Former Republican New York City mayor and current Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg was recorded at the Aspen Institute in 2015 strongly defending the racially targeted policing that he imposed on New York City.

Bloomberg's statement on the audio tape includes this:

"One of the unintended consequences is people say, ‘Oh my God, you are arresting kids for marijuana that are all minorities.’ Yes, that’s true. Why? Because we put all the cops in minority neighborhoods. Yes. That’s true. Why do we do it? Because that’s where all the crime is. . . And the ways you get the guns out of the kids’ hands is to throw them up against the wall and frisk them."

Here is our petition:

Michael Bloomberg,
We urge you to cease funding your presidential campaign, and to instead donate the same amount of money to racial justice groups such as the Innocence Project, the Center for Constitutional Rights, the ACLU Racial Justice Program, and Black Lives Matter.
