At this week's presidential candidates debate, Joe Biden claimed to have a record of getting things done. Bernie Sanders had something to say about that:
"Joe, you talked about working with Republicans and getting things done. But you know what you also got done? And I say this as a good friend. You got the disastrous war in Iraq done. You got a bankruptcy bill, which is hurting middle-class families all over this country. You got trade agreements, like NAFTA and PNTR with China done, which have cost us 4 million jobs."
Biden did not even attempt to respond to any of those facts about his record. Bernie wasn't finished:
"Now, let's get to Medicare for all. Let's be honest. We spend twice as much per person as do the people of any other major country on Earth. And the answer is, if we have the guts that I would like to see the Democratic Party have that guts, to stand up to the drug companies and the insurance companies and tell them that the function of health care is to guarantee care to all people, not to make $100 billion in profit."
Biden tried to respond to those facts about his platform, but failed miserably.

Biden has an abysmal five-decade record of serving corporate power and the military-industrial complex. It’s a record that Democratic primary voters should know before they start voting in early 2020.
That’s why we’re asking you to support the Biden Fact Squad that RootsAction has launched in several early-primary states. Whatever you can afford will widen our reach and impact. You can take a minute to click here and help now.
We’ve already gotten our high-impact flier about Biden into the hands of nearly 10,000 core Democratic activists at state party conventions in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, South Carolina and California. That flier documents key facts.
Of course, the weaknesses in Biden’s record are already fully known to Trump’s re-election strategists -- and they’re eager to inform voters in key swing states about them if he’s the Democratic nominee. Among Biden’s biggest vulnerabilities is the fact that he strongly supported NAFTA, the corporate trade pact that’s extremely unpopular in the “Rust Belt” where the 2020 presidential election is likely to be won or lost.
Please share our Biden Fact Squad flier that we’ve already distributed to thousands of progressive activists and voters.
And please chip in so we can print more copies of RootsAction’s illuminating Biden flier -- and distribute it more widely in early-primary states.
As indicated by articles listed below under “Background,” we can’t depend on corporate media to inform the public about what Biden has actually done in his long political career. We’ve found that even many Democratic Party activists lack information about important aspects of that career.
Please share Joe Biden: Facts and donate what you can afford to strengthen this work.
Please also share the Bernie to Biden video clip on Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube.
