In his infinite "genius," Donald Trump has announced an end to humanitarian aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

You may ask: Why would Trump do this?
In effect, Trump claims that by making these Central American countries even worse places to live he will somehow stop people from leaving them and desperately seeking lives elsewhere. As this is the opposite of reality, we must look elsewhere for explanation.
Perhaps Trump is seeking to save money. But he's not cutting off funding to murderous police and militaries that contribute heavily to making these countries difficult places to remain in. He's only cutting off money appropriated for actually helpful programs.
Is it possible that Trump is actually trying to increase immigration in order to justify his "emergency" on the Mexican border? Or is this simply sadism at work?
We can't explain such policies, but we can stop them.
