The least we can do is name names. If we can't all be represented equally by our elected officials, we should at least be allowed to know who has paid for the advertisements promoting them.
New legislation would make that possible.
Sign and send your Representative and Senators a petition supporting the new national DISCLOSE Act!
In the 2016 election more than $1.4 billion was spent by SuperPACs and secret money groups. Almost all of it was hidden behind misleading organizational names that didn't reveal their funders. Money and secrecy are corrupting our government -- and it's getting worse every election.
A new DISCLOSE Act has been introduced in Congress, and it's stronger than ever because it requires Dark Money groups to report their secret funders, includes robust follow-the-money transfer provisions to reveal contributors hiding behind front groups, and requires leaders of corporations, unions, and other organizations to “stand by their ad."

Every Senate Democrat and 165 Congressional Democrats have cosponsored the new DISCLOSE Act, but so far no Republicans have done so, despite similar disclosure bills having passed with overwhelming bipartisan majorities in states ranging from California and Washington to Montana and Alaska.
Sign and send a petition to your Congress members to help pass the DISCLOSE Act now!
