Working families don’t have a lot of powerful people in their corner. That’s why when Senator Elizabeth Warren spearheaded the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in 2011, it mattered. The CFPB was designed to be a watchdog agency that protects hardworking Americans from corporations that drive economic inequality and profit from poverty.

Since 2011, the CFPB has done its job. The agency took on for-profit colleges, protected home-buyers from unscrupulous lenders, recouped millions for families who were overcharged or lost homes to foreclosure, and shed light on dozens of predatory lending practices and consumer scams. In coming months, the agency is poised to take on payday and title lenders.
Now Congress is out to gut the agency. The House has already passed legislation to dismantle or defund the CFPB, and the industry is plotting to finish the job in the Senate.
Take action to stand up for working families and protect the CFPB from Wall Street’s puppet politicians in Congress.

The CFPB helps save Americans money and we’re counting on them to keep us out of the clutches of predatory lenders. Take action now and tell the Senate to put the everyday Americans they represent before Wall Street lobbyists.
