The U.S. Postal Service stops for nothing, and Congress won't halt Saturday mail beginning August 1st unless we allow it.

The Postal Service, despite lies to the contrary, actually makes a profit.  But, beyond that, it is a service we give to each other.

Two bills in Congress (S 316 in the Senate and HR 630 in the House) will ensure that Saturday mail continues and the Post Office continues for years to come.

Tell Congress to pass these bills right now!

The Postmaster plans to stop Saturday mail delivery, but the Government Accountability Office says the Postal Service has no legal authority to do so without Congressional approval, which it lacks.

What the Postal Service has from Congress is a 2006 mandate to pre-fund 75 years of future retiree health benefits over a 10-year period, a mandate endured by no other government agency or private company.  Prior to this outrageous mandate, from 2003 to 2006, the Postal Service made a profit of $9 billion.

The bills introduced by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) would end the financial trickery and allow mail deliverers to continue the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

Ask your members of Congress to cosponsor now.
