Let Another Nation Declare War for U.S. -- Seriously?
Three days after 9/11, Congress gave presidents the power to launch wars. Now a resolution in the Senate would effectively allow a foreign nation to launch the United States into a war.
Following a long list of falsehoods and half-truths about Iran, S.R.65 "urges that, if the Government of Israel is compelled to take military action in self-defense, the United States Government should stand with Israel and provide diplomatic, military, and economic support."
This is "self-defense" in the sense that the U.S. attack on Iraq was "self-defense."
Tell the Senate to obey the U.S. Constitution.
