RootsAction.org is joining with a huge coalition to move forward on a bold idea.
Rather than continuing to threaten Social Security, or to pretend it's doomed, why not protect and EXPAND it?
In fact we're just a few votes away from passing this out of the House of Representatives. You can help by clicking here.
The Social Security 2100 Act has 211 co-sponsors, and if passed would be the most significant update to Social Security since 1983―increasing benefits for millions of Americans and strengthening the Social Security Trust Fund for decades to come.
This bill, introduced by Rep. John Larson (D-CT), would increase Social Security benefits for all recipients and protect low-income workers by increasing the minimum monthly benefit. It also helps Social Security maintain its value over time by adjusting benefits to inflation.
The bill pays for all of this by raising payroll contributions slightly over time and requiring millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share.
