Insist that the Democratic Party be democratic.

The grassroots push for democratic reforms of the Democratic Party will reach a pivotal stage in early March when the full Democratic National Committee meets to consider major changes.

Powerful forces of corporate power are eager to prevent real progress toward a truly democratic Democratic Party. We must overcome those forces.

RootsAction is among several national organizations joining forces to insist that Democratic leaders stop evading the necessity of moving the party in a democratic direction.

Please take a moment now to click here and add your name to a petition that will be presented to state party chairs and DNC members around the country.

The party’s “Unity Reform Commission” has made final recommendations that include reducing the number of notoriously undemocratic “superdelegates” by 60 percent. (At the 2016 Democratic National Convention, one out of seven delegates were superdelegates, and dozens of those were corporate lobbyists.)

Another proposed step forward is to democratize primaries and caucuses with same-day registration and same-day party-switching.
