Trump is demanding millions in U.S. tax dollars for his border wall, having abandoned his oft-repeated campaign promise that Mexico would pay to wall itself off.
If Congress members cave in, they will be using our money to block desperate people trying to escape horrible circumstances in nations to our south -- in many cases circumstances created by U.S. policy, such as U.S. support for the brutal fraudulently "elected" government of Honduras. Not to mention very real climate change worsening droughts in Central America.
So let's tell every member of Congress: Not a dime of U.S. tax money for Trump's wall.
Insulting and antagonizing the rest of the world does not protect those doing the insulting or protect their wealth or "way of life." And Trump's antagonizing can cause blowback that endangers all of us. Trump has already tried to discriminate against immigrants on the basis of religion, incited racist violence, bombed Middle Eastern nations, insulted foreign leaders, and called other countries "s---holes" or "s---houses." Walling off Mexico would compound the damage.

The United States needs to work at sharing its unfathomable wealth both within and without its borders, and not just enrich Wall Street, weapons dealers, and billionaires. Our government needs to focus on allowing other countries to thrive as places people are able to remain in. Blaming immigrants is horrible campaign rhetoric but even worse as actual policy.
