The Declaration of Independence charged King George III with obstruction of justice.
Impeachment articles charged Richard Nixon with obstruction of justice.
But Donald Trump's lawyer claims the president cannot obstruct justice because he is the president, a claim that seems to fall under the umbrella of Richard Nixon's claim that anything a president does is legal, and King Louis XIV's claim to be the nation of France.
The same Richard Nixon, however, admitted that "of course, the crime of obstruction of justice is a serious crime and would be an impeachable offense."
Indeed, President Bill Clinton was impeached for obstruction of justice.
