The good news is that the German parliament has just rejected a deal to lease drones, because the drones were capable of carrying weapons. This is a model to extend to other countries.

More good news is that you can join over 100,000 other people in signing this petition to ban weaponized drones.

The bad news is that drones that any individual can buy can now be used as weapons.

More bad news is that more countries are buying and using weaponized drones.

Even more bad news is that under Donald Trump the United States is launching many more drone strikes than was the pace under Barack Obama.

Still more bad news is that U.S. military drones are now taking off and landing at a civilian commercial airport in New York State near Syracuse, where drone pilots at Hancock Air Base learn to use flying robots to kill thousands of miles away.

The time to make sure the future of armed drones involves more good news than bad is now. Click here.

Plans are in the works to employ drone pilots in more U.S. cities. And U.S. Customs and Border Protection has drones in the skies near, and not so near, U.S. borders, as well as loaned out to local police. Little by little, the wars come home.

Nonviolent protesters near Syracuse, N.Y., have for years now risked prison to educate and build pressure against the use of drones to kill in U.S. wars. In March a jury acquitted four of them, and a judge dismissed charges against others stemming from a separate action.

That's the kind of good news we need more of. Click here to add your name to the petition.
