In his State of the Union address, President Obama asked for "fast track" authority for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a secretive trade deal that opponents have called "NAFTA on steroids." The TPP would push jobs overseas, weaken food and consumer safety standards, circumvent environmental laws, restrict Internet freedom, and roll back financial protections.
Click here to join with RootsAction and The Nation to tell Congress not to allow fast track.
Fast track authority would allow the President to sign the TPP before Congress has voted to approve it, and then railroad the deal through Congress in only 90 days with limited debate and no amendments allowed.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Wall Street and the nation’s biggest corporations love these deals, but the American people overwhelmingly—and on a bipartisan basis—oppose them.
Write to your representatives today and demand that they reject fast track for the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Then please forward this to everyone you can.
